• Our Earth is 4.6 billion years old. Scaling to 46 years, humans have been here 4 hours and our Industrial Revolution began just 1 minute ago. In that time we’ve destroyed more than 50% of the worlds forests.
  • Livestock covers 45% of our Earth and is responsible for 91% of Amazon destruction
  • Every second an acre of rainforest falls to graze cattle and grow GMO crops for feed.
  • Raising animals is the leading cause of species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution, and habitat destruction.
  • Animal Agriculture uses 34-76 trillion gallons of water annually. That’s 56% of the water in the US.
  • Together, the meat and dairy industries use nearly 1/3 of all the fresh water in the entire world today.
  • Livestock causes 51% of all worldwide greenhouse gas emissions. Thats more than all forms of transportation combined.
  • Meanwhile, under the ocean we cannot see the 90 million tons of fish that are pulled out of the sea each year.
  • Fish cannot repopulate fast enough so scientists estimate with our rising appetite for fish, we will see fish-less oceans by 2048.
  • As many as 40% of fish caught globally every year are discarded. Plus 650,000 whales, dolphins and seals are killed every year by fishing vessels.
  • In the past 30 years, 50% of all coral has been killed
  • Every hour 6 million life-loving, sentient animals are killed for human consumption. That means in the time it took for you to read this post about 6,000 animals were slaughtered so we can eat their flesh.
  • 21,000 people will die today because the grain that could cure their hunger will instead be fed to a factory farmed animal.
  • 1.6 billion Americans die annually from preventable causes such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer caused largely by eating animals and animal products.

Be kind to the Earth, be kind to yourself, be kind to others. Eat more plants. Save the world.
